GreenStar

Green Star is an internationally-recognised rating system for the design, construction and operation of buildings, fitout and communities.

Many of the products imported by Jacobsen Creative Surfaces have been awarded environmental certifications.  These range from Good Environmental Choice Australia and Greentag, which assist in gaining points under the NZ Green Building Council Greenstar and Homestar programmes, to the Declare label under the Living Building Challenge.

What does Green Star take into account?

To rate a building or fitout's overall environmental impact, Green Star rating tools award points across nine categories: Energy, Water, Materials, Indoor Environment Quality (IEQ), Transport, Land Use & Ecology, Management, Emissions, and Innovation.

To evaluate the sustainability attributes of a community, Green Star - Communities awards points across five categories: Governance, Liveability, Economic Prosperity, Environment, and Innovation.

The point scores achieved by a project correspond to the following Green Star certified ratings:

Please note, only Green Star - Performance projects can achieve a rating less than 4 Star 'Best Practice'.
