What type of sheet vinyl is recommended for commercial kitchens?

We recommend using our Safetred Universal Plus, an R12 vinyl with a very grippy surface, which is council compliant. This vinyl is ideal for areas where slip resistance is crucial. For areas under and behind equipment, we suggest pairing it with a smooth vinyl, like Tarkett IQ Granit, IQ Optima, or Primo Premium, to make cleaning easier.

How should the vinyl be installed in a commercial kitchen?

We suggest using the R12 Safetred Universal Plus in high-traffic areas where slip resistance is needed. For areas under and behind equipment, and along the walls (approximately 150mm from cooktops), a smooth vinyl without the GRIP factor should be installed. This makes cleaning with a mop easier, as the rough surface of the R12 vinyl can shred a mop and requires a scrubbing brush and hot water for cleaning.

Why should I use smooth vinyl under machinery?

Smooth vinyl is easier to clean, especially in areas where equipment is placed. It allows for simpler maintenance with a mop rather than needing a scrubbing brush, which is necessary for cleaning the rough surface of R12 vinyl.

What are the available colours for Tarkett Safetred Universal Plus in New Zealand?
